Around 1,000 plants were found over two storeys

Police have seized half a million pounds worth of cannabis in a commercial unit raid. Officers attended the units in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, at around 1.40pm on Wednesday, June 29, where they found two storeys worth of cannabis plans.

Around one thousand plants were found in the raid, worth an estimated £500,000. A cordon was set up in the area whilst police dismantled the cultivation.

, who found the cannabis farm after a search of the area, said the plants were of varying maturity. The force is yet to release any details of any arrests and said the “investigation to identify those responsible is currently ongoing”.

Lysha Thompson, Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for the north of Caerphilly said: “Our officers have carried out a search of the property and disrupted a significant commercial operation growing cannabis in Gwent.

“Our investigation to identify those responsible is currently ongoing, and you may see more of our officers in the area as we carry out our enquiries. If you have any information that you think may help, or have any concerns you wish to discuss, please do stop and talk to our officers.
