Nechells police shut down huge cannabis warehouse

An industrial scale cannabis factory with plants worth in the region of £1.3million has been discovered in Nechells.

Officers, acting on a tip-off, raided a large warehouse on Premier Street around 9am on Friday.

They found an astonishing haul of 1,350 plants being cultivated.

Images taken by Nechells Police show large halls full of tall plants, specialist lighting and ventilation pipes and bins.

Thick black plastic sheeting was draped across the front of the building.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Police acting on reports of suspicious activity recovered 1,350 plants from a cannabis factory on Premier Street, Nechells, just before 9am today (10 August).
“The plans had an estimated value of around £1,300,000.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”

Nechells Police tweeted: “Fantastic result today, executing a warrant we successfully shut down a huge cannabis factory! Huge amount of drugs seized that won’t be making it onto the streets now.
