A cannabis farm with 124 plants has been located and seized by police.

Officers from the Pendle Task Force and the local neighbourhood policing team uncovered the grow across two houses in Woodside Terrace, Nelson, on Thursday.

Around 124 plants were discovered with police cropping and seizing the haul, before calling the electricity board to deal with the services which had been bypassed.

They also boarded and locked up the property to prevent further access.

No-one was arrested as a result of the incident but enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the police said: “The Pendle task force and community policing team have been busy performing duties in the gardening area of business today, and cropped 124 cannabis plants across two houses in Woodside Terrace, Nelson.

“No persons were home so when they do return they will be greeted by locked doors.

“So they are advised that we, the police, hold their newly fitted lock keys at Nelson police station, and we will be happy to assist them

“Cannabis factories are an issue for our communities, and this shows we will continue to target these areas and also prosecute the offenders when located.

Theft of electricity is also a huge problem, as growing equipment is energy use intensive.
